NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR ARTS WAIKATO'S OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE ARTS AWARDS

If you know someone who has tirelessly invested time and energy into your Arts Community, and would like to recognise them and their contribution now's the time.

2008 saw the inaugural Outstanding Service to the Arts Awards.  Awards were received throughout the region: Patricia and John Eastwood of Tirau; and Graeme Henry of Hamilton received awards for their contribution to visual arts, Judith Robinson of Cambridge received an award for her longstanding involvement in theatre, and June McCoubrie of Onewhero for her services to the performing arts through her leadership of the establishment of the Onewhero district Theatre and Arts Centre.

Winners of the 2009 Outstanding Service to the Arts Awards were Kirimaaku Kihi (music), Pam Watson (visual art) and Janet Smith (pottery).

Details and nomination forms are available by visiting Arts Waikato at 154 Galloway Street in Hamilton East, phoning 07 856 9731  or download here.  It is suggested that, to avoid embarrassment or disappointment, nominees are not informed of their nomination.
