Application forms will be available from:   

Arts Waikato but applicant must be nominated through an arts group, educational or other community organisation.       


 Forms can be emailed to you but must be completed and returned as hard copy.

$$ available Up to a maximum of $5000, average awarded $1000 - $2000

For Tertiary study in all areas of the arts


Criteria:

  • Must be New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Resident or educated within 10 Waikato districts (Hamilton, Hauraki, Matamata-Piako, Otorohanga, Ruapehu, South Waikato, Thames-Coromandel, Waikato, Waipa, Waitomo)
  • Nominated by arts or educational organisation or community representative
  • Normally only one nomination from each nominator will be considered
  • Not normally awarded below Year 13 level
  • Preference for those not previously awarded an Arts Waikato scholarship
  • Study must be for a recognised qualification or course
  • Can be full or part time study
  • Study does not have to be in the Waikato
  • Preference given to study costs, but projects related to study goals will be considered

Not for:

  • Travel or accommodation
  • Purchase of capital items

We are looking for:

  • applicant's participation in and contribution to their arts community
  • potential contribution to the arts community in the region
  • achievement in their field of art

Categories:  scholarships will be awarded across four areas:

  • Music
  • Visual arts
  • Performing arts and film
  • Maori arts
