Services are provided in the following areas in response to requests from groups:

Funding and sponsorship advice and support:

  • Assistance with a search for project funding using Fundview or Breakout databases
  • Planning of a funding calendar spreadsheet (template provided)
  • Organising funding folder (template page of contents provided)
  • Co-facilitation of funding workshops with partner agencies
  • Providing information about Arts Waikato scholarships and services at funding roadshows, expos, and funders network meetings
  • Assistance with completing application forms for scholarships
  • Assistance with applying for funding on behalf of collaborative activities
  • Advice on sponsorship - drafting of proposals, letters, how to approach sponsors

Advice on and support with setting up new projects and initiatives:

  • Convene group, set suggested agenda, take meeting notes
  • Establish participatory processes and decision-making culture
  • Lead and facilitate visioning process and strategic planning
  • Assist with consultation of community and key stakeholders
  • Advise on legal entity options and setting up of organisational structure
  • Advise on trustee recruitment, roles and responsibilities

Advice and support on organisational management:

  • Support with effective meeting procedures and communication between trustees/committee members
  • Liaison and referral of staff to workshops or training opportunities
  • Provision of appropriate resources including templates on policies, planning, staff job descriptions etc.
  • Assistance with event planning, contacts for specialist services e.g. technical services and equipment.
  • Advice on promotion of events and activities through marketing, the media and arts networks
  • Advice on proposal writing and evaluation (templates)
  • Provide up to date information about developments within and affecting the arts sector
  • Informal mentoring/supervision of staff
  • Assistance with finding art tutor: referral to tutor database

Facilitate collaboration:

  • Communicate with and facilitate meetings with stakeholders
  • Build good relationships with national and regional organisations
  • Represent arts interests in the wider community and with district councils
  • Coordinate forums of groups with a similar interest e.g. Community Arts Councils
  • Promote projects and events through database

Support with advocacy:

  • Encourage opportunities to advocate for arts e.g. with district councils and advice on how this can be achieved.
  • Advocacy for groups e.g. support negotiations with councils on contracts etc.
