Groups
Our focus is to strengthen community arts groups by providing free support and advice:
- For existing groups in the areas of funding, resources, other places to find helpful information, strategic planning, management issues, lobbying for support with local authorities or government agencies, event management, mentoring and advice on marketing and promotion.
- For people who want to form new groups, we can offer facilitation services, planning, networking and resources on group structure.

Individuals
Scholarships for tertiary study in any arts area are available to increase the skill levels of those working in the arts community.
Information such as art competitions and awards, a tutors’ database , a list of galleries in the region and artists’ websites
Arts.Biz workshop series - eight workshops during the year presenting basic business management skills for those working in the creative sector.
Advocacy
Arts Waikato acts as an advocate for arts and culture in the Waikato region by:
- Advocating for greater community participation in creative and cultural activities
- Working with the 10 local authorities in our region and encouraging them to support arts activities in their area
- Networking with other local and national organizations to increase opportunities for arts development
- Encouraging funding applications by arts groups and artists to both local and national funding organisations such as Creative New Zealand
- Encouraging an awareness of the value of arts and cultural activities in our community.

Region
Our area covers 10 local authority districts in the North Island of New Zealand, with Hamilton City as the hub and including Hauraki, Matamata-Piako, Otorohanga, Ruapehu, South Waikato, Thames-Coromandel, Waikato, Waipa and Waitomo Districts.
