Outstanding Services to the Arts Awards
The purpose of this award is to acknowledge the efforts of individuals who have made an outstanding and meritorious contribution to the community via the arts in the Waikato region. We want to know about those people who have tirelessly invested time and energy over a number of years into their arts communities. This award is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the wonderful contribution these people have made. Application is by nomination only and nominations open on Monday 27 June and close on Friday 19 August.

Gallagher's Creative School Award
For the first time in association with Gallager, Arts Waikato is offering a special award for schools who embrace creativity. First prize is a $1000 cash that your school can spend on its next creative project.

Creative Places Award
These awards are all about celebrating best practice in terms of art, creativity and design, that has had a positive effect on the community. There are two sub categories:
1. Creative Space
A single building / organisation that has used art and design and/or creative processes to create positive benefits for the community it serves.
2. Creative Community
For a wider community within a geographical area – this may be a town or a suburb, or precinct. Rather than just one organisation it must involve a collective effort to bring art and design into the community for positive benefit.

2011 Open Wānanga Te Puawaitanga toi Māori Arts Award
Applications are now invited for the all new 2011 Open Wānanga Te Puawaitanga toi Māori Arts Award. There is one award of $2500 available for a person of Maori descent who is studying for a career in the arts at a degree level within the Waikato region. All applications are considered on merit within the full criteria available on Arts Waikato’s website.
This award is for a person of Māori descent who is studying for a career in the arts at a degree level within the Waikato region. Applicants do not have to be from this region, but Study does have to be undertaken within this region. This can be at any of the 3 tertiary institutions with the Waikato region. Study should be in the arts and focussed on developing a career in the arts.
Applications close on Friday 16 September 2011. Completed forms with all supporting documentation must be at Arts Waikato office before 5.00pm Friday 16 September 2011.
